Elementary art teachers this year have chosen ``The Chair'' as a theme around which to focus work contributed for the exhibit. The resulting art ranges from various kinds of artistic ``chair pieces'' to chair sculptures.
All work will be exhibited at the center's Main Street Gallery at 21 W. Main St. in Pulaski. The public is invited to a reception honoring the student artists from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 26.
``The center has always emphasized the importance of art studies to the education of our young people, and this exhibition will give us all a chance to see the talents of the students of the New River Valley,'' said Michael Dowell, the center's executive director.
The theme idea has proved so popular that it will be repeated with a new one next year, he said.
