UPDIKE APPOINTED TO GENERAL DISTRICT

Bedford County Commonwealth's Attorney Jim Updike was among those appointed to judgeships Saturday by the General Assembly.

Updike will become judge of the General District Court, 24th District. He was appointed to a six-year term beginning July 1.

Also named to the bench were:

R. Morgan Armstrong of Henry County, General District judge, 21st District, six-year-term beginning July 1.

Susan N. Deatherage of Martinsville, 21st District, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, six-year term beginning May 1.
