GRUNDY WINS REGION IV WRESTLING

Grundy dominated the Region IV wrestling tournament, which concluded Saturday night at Carroll County High School, winning every individual championship except two en route to its eighth consecutive regional title.

The only titles Grundy did not win were in the 103-pound class, where David Hoffman of Marion won by default, and the 189-pound class, which was won by Graham McPherson of Tazewell. McPherson won 3-2 in two overtimes over Brandon Stevenson of Grundy.

Marion finished second with 184.5 points - 241.5 points behind Grundy. Richlands was third and Virginia High finished fourth. Christiansburg was Timesland's top finisher, placing sixth. Blacksburg and Carroll County finished eighth and ninth, respectively.
