EXTENSION-TECH OFFICIAL DIES AT 63

William C. Burleson, information coordinator for the Virginia Cooperative Extension and Virginia Tech since the late 1970s, died Sunday after a long illness. He was 63.

Burleson, a native of Louisville, Ky., graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in journalism and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

He came to Virginia Tech in 1965 after working as a business editor for both the Lynchburg News and the Roanoke World-News.

He started at Virginia Tech as news bureau director. In 1978, he became a writer and editor for the Cooperative Extension's communications staff.
