FOOT INJURY IDLES LYNCH 4-6 WEEKS

The Los Angeles Lakers, already without injured starters Cedric Ceballos and Eddie Jones, learned forward George Lynch and center Sam Bowie will miss playing time.

Lynch, a Roanoke native averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 50 games, will be out of action from four to six weeks because of a stress fracture in his right foot.

Bowie, who missed Saturday night's 83-81 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, will be sidelined at least a week because of a fractured rib. The status of Bowie, averaging 4.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 43 games this season, will be re-evaluated next week.
