In ``Lottery! Your Dream Ticket,'' authors Louise Krakower and Adam Victor claim to unlock the secrets of the ``legendary'' system for playing the game, based on the age-old wisdom contained in ``La Smorfia,'' the Italian ``Book of Dreams.''
Their book is an English version of ``La Smorfia,'' which is outsold in Italy only by the Bible.
The lottery was invented in Italy, and Italians have consulted this mysterious tome for more than 300 years to help them win in games of chance. And everyone knows that Italy must have, hidden away somewhere, an incredible number of wealthy lottery winners!
The method is simple: Note the most important elements in your dreams, look them up in the book's alphabetical listing, and write down the number assigned to them.
For example, last Saturday's lottery winner might have dreamed that a monkey (16) ate yellow flowers (12), and after laughing with some friends (22), the monkey put a brain (29) into freezing (32) water (39). Well, we can only hope the winner had a more pleasant vision.
But you get the idea ...
So, for a mere $3.99, plus tax, plus $1 for the ticket, you could turn yours dreams into gold. Of course, if you bought the book at Books-A-Million, that might be prophetic, too.
