MOTHER'S BOYFRIEND HELD IN BOY'S SLAYING

Police say a quarrel between a 16-year-old Chesterfield County boy and his mother's boyfriend led to the shooting death of the teen-ager.

Tommy L. Myers, 43, has been charged with first-degree murder in Wednesday's slaying of Nicholas J. Lioulios.

``What actually precipitated the event was an argument between the young man and the accused shooter the day before,'' said Chesterfield Police Capt. James P. Borque. ``The argument spilled over, and apparently Mr. Myers stewed on it and ... attacked the boy with a handgun.''

Police and Myers traded gunfire before he was arrested. No one was injured.
