Cecilia Yoon-Ju Oh of Vienna was named first alternate. Harsharen Kaur Bhuller of Colonial Heights was second alternate.

Other finalists were Amy Bann of Prince William County, Josephine Nguyen of Fairfax, Amy Oleski of Chesterfield County and Susan Bernabucci of Alexandria.

Heather Lea Crowe of Franklin County was a co-winner of the spirit award with Nguyen, who also won the scholastic achievement award.

Sam and Vicki Lionberger of Roanoke were named state chairpersons of the program, which is a scholarship competition for college-bound high school seniors.
