HAMPDEN-SYDNEY SWALLOWS THE PRIDE

Jason Leonard scored 31 points and Todd Kerr added 25 Saturday to lead Hampden-Sydney past Greensboro 105-79 in the second round of the NCAA Division III men's basketball tournament.

The Tigers (27-2) made 59 percent of their field-goal attempts in the second half, scoring 58 points to build on a 47-40 halftime lead.

Hampden-Sydney also forced Greensboro (19-10) into 22 turnovers.

Duane Williams led the Pride with 19 points, and Kevin Beard had 14 and Kenny Lyons 13. Jerel Williams and Pat Williams each grabbed seven rebounds.

Nate Schwab had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Hampden-Sydney, which advanced to the round of 16 in the tournament.
