ARTS APPLICATIONS

The Virginia Commission for the Arts has announced an April 3, 5 p.m., application deadline for the Commission's 1995-96 Artists-in-Education Residency Program and the 1995-96 Arts Education Development Grant Program.

The Artists-in-Education Residency Program provides financial assistance through competitive matching grants awarded to schools and school systems to place professional artists of various artistic disciplines in residencies in elementary and secondary schools.

The purpose of the Arts Education Development Grant Program is to advance the goal of making sequential, curriculum-based arts instruction taught by certified arts specialists a part of the basic curriculum of all elementary and secondary school in Virginia.
