PULASKI SCHOOL BOARD TO MEET

The Pulaski County School Board will try to keep its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday brief to allow time afterward for a budget session.

A previously scheduled Feb. 22 budget session got sidetracked because of the time the board spent in closed session deciding on an appeal by a teacher involving a disciplinary matter. The delay also necessitated the School Board delaying its first budget session of the year with the county Board of Supervisors to Monday at 7 p.m.

The proposed school budget will formally be presented to the supervisors April 3.

Other items to be discussed Thursday by the School Board include a professional development plan for teachers, and a calendar for the rest of the school year.

That calendar includes a teachers' work day March 24, and an April 10-14 spring break. Makeup for the four days missed because of weather would be June 1, 2, 5 and 6.

Parent-teacher conferences are set at elementary schools for April 4 at Claremont, March 30 at Critzer, March 30 and April 4 at Northwood, and March 16-30 at Riverlawn with teachers scheduling individual conferences during that period.
