NEW RIVER MAN ARRAIGNED IN RADFORD ON SEX CHARGES|

A New River man was arraigned Monday in Radford General District Court on charges of aggravated sexual battery, according to a court spokeswoman.

Carnell O. Walker, 20, from the small Pulaski County community of New River, is expected back in court April 24 on charges that he assaulted a Radford University student at an off-campus party near the university on Feb. 27, according to police and the court spokeswoman.

Police arrested Walker late Friday, said Lt. Wayne Frye of the Radford City Police.

The victim reported the assault to police. Frye said more people have reported sexual assaults in recent years.
