Prince, a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, averaged 11.9 points and 6.4 assists for the Keydets, who finished the season10-17 after a loss to Georgia Southern in the first round of the Southern Conference tournament last week.
Prince set VMI season records for assists (173) and steals (65). He led the conference in assists and free-throw percentage (85.5), making 100 of 117 attempts this season.
The 6-foot-1 native of Blue Ridge scored a career-high 21 points in a loss to Navy Jan9. He had a career-high 14 assists against Western Carolina Jan.14.
Prince carries a 3.93 grade point average in civil engineering. He's the first VMI basketball player named to a national academic team since Andy Kolesar in 1980-81.
