STABBING REPORTEDLY OVER PARKING PLACE

A woman told town police she was stabbed five times after exchanging words with another woman over parking space at a convenience store, town police said Thursday.

Wanda Ratcliffe, 18, told police she got into a fight at the Fast Shop on South Washington Street with a woman who said Ratcliffe had parked too close to her car. Ratcliffe said the woman came toward her with a knife and stabbed her while a man held her, according to a Police Department spokeswoman.

Another woman, Angela Hall, received a cut on two fingers of her right hand when she tried to help Ratcliffe, police said. The attack happened at 12:10 p.m.

Ratcliffe drove to Pulaski Community Hospital, where doctors treated wounds to her left shoulder, right side and behind her right ear. No charges have been filed yet, but an investigation is continuing.
