BARCLAY, Flora M., (``Sis""), 85, of Salem, formerly of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, March 9, 1995 at the Richfield Nursing Center, Salem. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.I. Barclay and a sister, Jean Barclay Williams. She was a member of the Huntington Court United Methodist Church, was a devoted teacher her entire life and retired principal of Morningside Elementary School for 17 years, county schools for two years, and was an educator for 44 years. She graduated from the State Teachers College in Farmville and earned her Masters Degree from Duke University. Flora was a member of the Delta Kapa Gamma Teachers Society. Surviving is a brother-in-law, Forrest S. Williams of Roanoke. Graveside services will be at the Fair View Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Joseph L. Lotts officiating. BOWDEN, Rebecca P., 52, of 305 SW Maynard Rd., Cary, N.C., died Thursday, March 9, 1995, at Duke Medical Center due to an extended illness. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel in Apex, N.C. on Saturday, March 11. She is survived by her husband, W. David Bowden of the home; three sons, Timothy Hann of Roanoke, David Hahn of Covington, Gary Hahn of Durham, N.C.; one daughter, Dawn B. Brown of Hillsboro, N.C.; father, Ira P. Pyle of Covington; three grandchildren, Matthew Hahn of Roanoke, Brittny Hahn of Durham, N.C., Ashley Brown of Hillsboro, N.C.; two sisters, Helen P. Burnett of Covington, Dana P. Swoop of Covington; one brother, Stephen Pyle of Wilmington, Del. A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Alleghany Memorial Park in Covington. CAWLEY, Samuel Oakey, 81, of Mt. Airy, formerly of Vinton, passed away Thursday, March 9, 1995, in Mt. Airy, N.C. Mr. Cawley was a retired carpenter and served with the U.S. Army during WWII. Survivors include one son, Thomas Griffen Cawley, Mt. Airy, N.C.; three daughters, Betty C. Atkins, Lisa C. Pike, and Rose C. Jones, all of Mt. Airy, N.C.; two brothers, Jasper Cawley and John Cawley, both of Vinton; two granddaughters and two grandsons. DAVIS, Edna M. Drumheller, 69, of 816 N. Greenbrier Ave., Covington, died Thursday, March 9, 1995, at her residence. She was the wife of Paul L. Davis. Mrs. Davis was born January 11, 1926, in Covington, a daughter of the late Leonard Hamilton Drumheller and Laura Morris Drumheller. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four brothers, Ernest M. Drumheller, Morris H. Drumheller, Noah L. Drumheller, all of Covington, Harold E. Drumheller, Hopewell; one sister, Mrs. Maynard (Gertrude) O'Brien, Covington; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Covington Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Childress officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. FARMAKIS, Kathy O., 45, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, March 9, 1995, in the Lewis-Gale Hospital. She was born January 26, 1950 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late John H. Overstreet and Margaret Ruff Overstreet of Bedford, who survives. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, George F. Farmakis, Daytona Beach, Fla.; four brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny M. and Kathy Overstreet, Lynchburg, Terry and Glenda Overstreet, David and Teresa Overstreet, Troy Overstreet, all of Bedford; ex-husband and friend, George T. OVERSTREET, Frances W., 70, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, March 9, 1995, at her residence. She was born June 3, 1924 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late William Henry Wright and Bertha Rider Wright. She was a member of the Bedford Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Odell Overstreet. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Susan Overstreet, Bedford; a sister, Virginia Moore, Lynchburg; a brother, Willie Rucker Wright, Bedford; two grandsons, Stuart Overstreet and Will overstreet, both of Bedford. PASHLEY, Roland H., 88, of Roanoke, died Friday, March 3, 1995, in Florida. He was a native of Indian Lake, N.Y. Mr. Pashley was retired from General Electric. Survivors include his wife, Lillian T. Pashley; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley S. and Russell C. Turpin of Forest; a grandson and granddaughter- in-law, John Michael Sullivan and Kristin Hoyt of Germantown, Md. REYNOLDS, George Verlin, 69, of Route 2, Galax, died Thursday, March 9, 1995, in the Waddell Nursing Center. He was born in Carroll County, the son of the late James Luther and Lila Burnett Reynolds. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Reynolds. He is survived by his wife, Jewell Melton Reynolds; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Bobbitt of Pulaski; two sons and daughters-in-law, James ``Jimmie" and Elizabeth Reynolds of Sparta, N.C., Jerry and Pam Reynolds of Woodlawn; nine grandchildren and one grandson-in-law, Chad Reynolds, Amy and Jamie Reynolds, Jason Hawks, Shannon and Chuck Yates, Justin and Jacquelyn Bobbitt, Taylor and Haley Reynolds; one great-grandson, Tyler Yates; one sister, Lila Young of Galax; one brother, Kent Reynolds of Galax. RHUDY, Mary Booth, 77, of Independence, passed away Friday, March 10, 1995 at Hollins Hospital in Sebring, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle J. Rhudy. She was born December 24, 1917 in Madisonville, Tenn. to Rev. J. T. and Nancy Duffy Booth. She was a retired church secretary of Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church in Millersville, Md. Surviving are her daughter, Sallie Gill, Edgewater, Md.; three sisters, Evelyn Kirk, Independence, Jean Painter, Cripple Creek, Louise Trigg, Fort Worth, Texas; and one brother, James Booth, Fries. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 12, 1995, at 2 p.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, Va., with the Rev. Brian Miller officiating. THOMASON, Ralph E., (``Si""), 80, of Roanoke, formerly of Bluefield, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 8, 1995 in a local hospital. He was a member of Green Memorial United Methodist Church and the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. A veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post #9 Bluefield, W.Va. and a retired employee of Blue Ridge Optical Co. Surviving are his wife, Rita T. ``Boots"" Thomason; two sisters, Evalyne Tickle, Wilmington, N.C. and Elmyra Hadley, Kokomo, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Jack H.
