MONTGOMERY'S PEOPLE IN POWER

The seven-member board sets local tax rates and the annual county budget, makes land-use decisions and adopts county ordinances. Members are elected to four-year terms from their specific districts, which include about 10,000 people each. The seats in districts B, E, F and G will be up for re-election in November, along with four corresponding School Board seats. Districts A, C and D won't be up for re-election until 1997.
