REPORTED EARNINGS

Rowe Furniture Corp., Arlington-based manufacturer with operations in Salem, reported net earnings of $4.1 million, or 30 cents per share, on shipments of $28.7 million for its first quarter ended Feb. 26, compared with year-earlier $1.7 million, or 12 cents per share, on shipments of $27 million. Shipments for furniture makers are equivalent to sales for other businesses. The most recent earnings reflect an after-tax net gain of $3 million, equal to 22 cents per share, from the sale of investment property.
