GOURMET SHOP LETS YOU LEARN WHILE YOU EAT

Learn while you lunch or do dinner at Provisions Gourmet in Hunting Hills Plaza. Noontime sessions, lasting approximately one hour, include Thursday's on how to prepare an easy and elegant dinner; March 22 on a fast and easy Mexican menu; April 4, Cajun spaghetti; and April 12, stir fry. Evening classes, starting at 7 p.m. and lasting two to three hours, are set for March 30 with a do-ahead Easter brunch menu and April 6 on yeast breads.

Instructors are Provisions' staff members Karen Hunter and Chef Alexis Hinchey and guest, Chef Lionel Melancon. Noontime meetings cost $15; evening courses cost $25. Reservations are required and space is limited. The store also will host a free wine tasting of a chardonnay, a port and a merlot from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Call 776-3264.
