MAN CHARGED IN FEB. SHOOTING

An 18-year-old Troutville man has been charged in a Feb. 12 shooting that damaged two cars and smashed an apartment window in Vinton. No one was injured during the incident.

Tony Lee Crowder of Troutville was arrested Wednesday night and charged with felonious property damage and discharging a firearm from a vehicle with the possible intent to cause injury or death, Vinton police said.

Police recovered ammunition consistent with an assault-type rifle from two vehicles parked in the lot of the Longwood Apartments at 220 Eighth Street. Investigators have not uncovered a motive.
