`TALK OF THE TOWN' TAKES SWING AT BASEBALL

The subject is baseball when ``TALK OF THE TOWN'' steps up to the plate on Radford University's WVRU (89.9 FM) 8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. Friday. The program features highlights of the Salem-Roanoke Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in February.

Among those appearing will be former Minnesota Twins player Charlie Manuel - now living in Roanoke and a hitting instructor for the Cleveland Indians - and pitcher Hal Hrabosky, known as ``The Mad Hungarian'' during his days with the St. Louis Cardinals. The two talk about current players and manage to get in a word or two about the Major League Baseball impasse.
