NAMES & CHANGES

Stanley expands managers

Stanley Furniture Co. Inc. has enlarged its management team and promoted key executives as it expands its product line into upholstered furniture. BILL SIBBICK has been named vice president for product development and merchandising. Sibbick joined Stanley in 1989 and has worked in various product development and merchandising positions, most recently, vice president for product development.

JOE BOST has been named vice president for upholstery. Bost has been president of Stanley's Norman's of Salisbury division since 1993. He has 20 years of experience in sales, merchandising and production with Hickorycraft and Drexel Heritage

GARY HOKANSON has been named vice president for design for the company's case goods division. Prior to his promotion, he was vice president and occasional product manager. Before joining Stanley in 1994, Hokanson worked more than 20 years in design and merchandising positions with several companies, including American of Martinsville, American Drew and Lane.

DEL STARNES has been named vice president, product manager for the company's upholstery division. Starnes joined Stanley in 1993 as product manager, upholstery. Before that, he had more than 10 years of upholstery experience at Hickorycraft.

ENVIRONMENTAL

BREN HUGGINS has been named branch manager of Environmental Resources Management Inc.'s Roanoke office and a newly designated associate of the Exton, Pa.-based firm. ERM is a global consulting organization of environmental, health and safety specialists.

GOVERNMENT

DONALD WISE HUFFMAN, a Roanoke attorney with the law firm of Bird, Kinder and Huffman, has been appointed a member by Gov. George Allen of the advisory council on self-determination and federalism. He is also a member of the governor's ethics commission and the board of visitors of Virginia Tech.

MANUFACTURING

JAMES M. LYNCH of Roanoke has been named Southeastern regional sales manager for Tustin, Calif.-based Revere Transducers Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of load cells used in electronic weighing applications. For 14 years, Lynch has provided technical assistance and applications expertise to scale companies and weighing industry customers.

ED BELL has been appointed president of The Lane Division of The Lane Co. Inc., in Altavista. He replaces DOUG LANE, who has resigned. Bell will continue as senior vice president of The Lane Co. Inc. Bell joined The Lane Co. in 1970 as manager of data processing. He was regional sales manager in 1973 and later general sales manager before being named secretary in 1983. In 1988 he was named vice president and chief financial officer, and in 1990 was made senior vice president overseeing the Hickory Chair, Pearson, Lane Upholstery, Venture and HBF divisions of the parent company.

MEDICINE

DR. RICHARD P. LEGGETT has been named co-medical director of the New Hope Christian Therapy Program at Lewis-Gale Psychiatric Center, which has opened a new office at the center.

DR. R. THOMAS EDWARDS has become a fellow of The American College of Physicians. Edwards is vice president of Roanoke Valley Medical Clinic.

NONPROFITS

MARY LINDA McBRIDE has been selected as director of development, a new position at Center in the Square in Roanoke. She formerly was director of development for the Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP) in Roanoke since 1993, director of annual giving for the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia from 1990 to 1993, and was a funds development volunteer for Focus women's resource center in Charlottesville from 1988 to 1991. She was assistant dean of students and director of international student services at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, from 1982 to1984.

Family Service of Roanoke Valley has elected new officers for 1995: LUCAS A. SNIPES, senior vice president with Carilion Health System; SARA D. AYERS, community volunteer, first vice president; BEVERLY B. LAMBERT, MKB Realtors, second vice president; KIRK A. LUDWIG, Martin, Hopkins & Lemon, treasurer; and JAMES C. SEARS, Center in the Square, secretary.

New board members are MIKE BELL, WDBJ-TV; BETH FARISS, Lewis-Gale Psychiatric Center; and SUSIE SIPOS, Alpha Wolf Group. Family Service of Roanoke Valley provides professional human services including counseling, home-care aid and domestic-violence treatment.

ANDY KEGLEY has been appointed program administrator at Mountain Shelter Inc. in Wytheville. Kegley was on the founding board of the nonprofit housing corporation in 1992. Most recently, Kegley was news editor for both the Bland County Messenger and the Southwest Virginia Enterprise. He is chairman of the advisory board of the Rural Economic Analysis Program at the department of agricultural and applied economics at Virginia Tech.

REAL ESTATE

DAVE CARTY has been named principal broker for HCMF Real Estate and Housing Management Corp.'s Roanoke office. Carty has been in the real estate business for nine years and is chairman of the grievance committee of the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors.

JOAN ROBBINS of Joan Robbins & Associates in Bedford has been named vice president of the Blue Ridge District Broker Council of Century 21, and JESSIE BROWN of Brown Realty Co. in Roanoke has been named secretary of the council.

VETERINARY MEDICINE

DR. LINDA JENNINGS has joined the Southern Hills Animal Hospital in Roanoke. Jennings has been practicing small-animal medicine for five years in the Roanoke area.
