Naff pleaded guilty in September to the reduced charges. He originally was charged with two counts of nonforcible sodomy, a felony, of his minister's 15- and 16-year-old nieces. The minister and his wife had taken Naff into their home while he was going through a divorce.
Naff received the maximum sentence of 12 months for each of the Class 1 misdemeanors, according to Randy Krantz, assistant Bedford County commonwealth's attorney.
But Bedford County Circuit Judge William Sweeney suspended all but 90 days, with some conditions, Krantz said.
Once he's released, Naff will remain on "intensive, indefinite, supervised probation" and is strictly forbidden to have any unsupervised contact with any juvenile, male or female.
Krantz said Naff also will have to pay for counseling the two girls received as a result of Naff's actions.
"I felt very good about the outcome," Krantz said. He said the arrangement allows authorities to keep a close eye on Naff, maybe for the rest of his life.
Prosecutors still are holding out an aggravated sexual battery charge against Naff that involves a third niece of the minister, a 13-year-old.
Krantz said that charge, which could carry a sentence of one to 20 years, could be reinstated if Naff violates his probation.
