FERRUM, ROANOKE STARS EARN BASKETBALL HONORS

John Breedlove of Ferrum and Bryant Lee of Roanoke College were named honorable-mention All-South Region men's basketball players Monday by Columbus Multimedia.

Breedlove closed his career as Ferrum's No.2 all-time scorer, with 1,194 points. Lee became the first Roanoke player to average double figures in scoring (15.5) and rebounding (10.3) since Gerald Holmes in 1983.

Dan Rush of Bridgewater was named first-team All-South and also earned second-team All-America honors. Nate Schwab of Hampden-Sydney was an honorable-mention All-American and a first-team All-South selection.

Jason Leonard of Hampden-Sydney was second-team All-South and Tigers teammate Todd Kerr was named honorable mention.
