Chris Taylor of Salem got an ``A'' in his favorite subject Thursday night when he rolled a 300 in his third game at Lee-Hi Lanes.
The Salem High School senior's first perfect game was the centerpiece of a 755 series.
``I kind of felt this was going to be one of my good nights,'' Taylor said.
Taylor, 18, has been bowling for 14 years and averages a 210 with the Lee-Hi Rollers.
``I occasionally sub on a Friday night in my parents' league,'' Taylor said. ``I usually bowl with my friends. Bowling is usually my No.1 thing to do.''
League-mate Lucky Bohan, also of Salem, came close to a 300 of his own when he rolled a 299 in his second game.
``I left the 7-pin in the last frame,'' Bohan said. ``It wiggled and it wobbled, but it didn't fall.''
Bohan, who works for the regional office of the Veterans' Administration, said he has been bowling for about 20 years but never has rolled a 300. He averages a 189 with the Lee-Hi Rollers.
``I sure would have liked to have had that last one,'' he said.
