All over the Roanoke Valley today, hundreds of volunteers are picking up trash in streams, streets, parks and parking lots. Dozens of civic associations, schools, church groups and other organizations have picked their spot to clean, said Ann Masters, executive director of the Clean Valley Council. About 1,000 other people have called to ask for trash bags to clean up their own corner of the world.
``If you have not signed up, just look at your own street,'' Masters said.
Volunteers will be on the litter detail from 9 a.m. to noon, and the council has arranged for trucks to pick up the full bags later in the day.
If you call by 10 a.m., Masters said, she'll make sure your Clean Valley Day contribution is picked up. Her number is 345-5523.
And there's one thing folks should remember, she said: ``Clean Valley Day is every day.''
