MONTGOMERY WOMAN CHARGED IN ARSON|

A Montgomery County woman has been charged with setting fire to her father's Shawsville mobile home Thursday afternoon.

Bonita Caswell Winfrey, 35, of Beech Spring Lane, is being held in the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

The fire at the Dark Run Road home was reported at 1:16 p.m. Deputies charged Winfrey with arson after an investigation by the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found "pour patterns" of a flammable liquid in the living room which had then been ignited, said Captain O.P. Ramsey.

Investigators believe the fire was the result of a family or land dispute.

Deward Caswell, 58, told deputies he was resting in a bedroom when he smelled smoke, got up and saw his daughter, who told him to get out because the trailer was "going to go," according to reports filed by deputies.

Ramsey said Winfrey accused her father of setting the fire and said she saw smoke when she drove up to the trailer.

The mobile home was a total loss.
