North's three-hour daily talk show, now broadcast in three markets, will be syndicated at 55 additional stations beginning Monday, said Tim Carpenter, North's business manager. About 20 more contracts are pending, Carpenter said.
North, a Republican who failed in his bid to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Charles Robb last fall, launched the show March 13 from WWRC-AM in Silver Spring, Md. The program also is heard in Oklahoma City and Houston, Carpenter said.
In Virginia, WHEE-AM in Martinsville, WXBQ-AM/FM in Bristol, WHAP-AM in Hopewell and WKCY-AM in Harrisonburg will carry the show, he said.
The syndication by the Irving, Texas-based Salem Radio Network is one of the fastest ever for a radio program, Carpenter said.
North, whose felony convictions in the Reagan-era arms-for-hostages scandal were overturned on appeal, pledges to offer listeners ``something you can finally use from Washington - the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.''
Nan Wood, general manager of WHEE, said she thinks North will draw many listeners. His 3 p.m. show will follow fellow conservative Rush Limbaugh's, she said.
The Limbaugh program ``has been such a hit, we're going to double-dose them,'' she said.
