Radford grabbed the pole with a qualifying speed of 96.704 mph. Steve Lynch of Rocky Mount finished second in the race and Jimmy Mullins of Collinsville was third.
Mike Dudley of Roanoke won the Street Stock race. Mike Elkins of Rocky Mount was second and Freddy Goff of Lynchburg was third.
Chris Martin of Bassett won the Mini Stock race. Steve Dalton of Hillsville was second and Bobby Hurt of Rocky Mount was third.
In the Pure Stock division, Red Hartman of Boones Mill was the winner, Jay Peery of Roanoke finished second and Tom Dooley of Troutville finished third.
Ricky Ferguson of Martinsville won the Rookie race, Teddy Lawless of Stuart took the truck event and Allen Altice of Roanoke won the Any Car race.

Virginia Tech used five home runs to overpower Howard 20-2 in a baseball game in Blacksburg.
Josh Herman, a former William Byrd High School standout, and Kevin Barker led the way for the Hokies (17-10) with grand slams, Jon Hand hit a three-run shot, Christian Conte had a two-run blast and Corey Snyder launched a solo homer. Howard's record slipped to 4-19.
Western Carolina pounded out 13 hits to beat VMI 7-2 in a Southern Conference baseball game in Lexington.
Louie Napoleon drove in both runs for the Keydets (12-17). Joe Jack Sellers (4-4) pitched a four-hitter for the Catamounts (20-15).
In Ferrum, Chris Qualley tossed a three-hitter and struck out seven as Methodist beat Ferrum 6-0 in a Dixie Conference baseball game. Methodist is 15-12 overall and 4-2 in the Dixie. Keith Mayhew (6-1) took the loss for the Panthers (18-7, 2-4).
Radford senior pitcher Jim Abbott scattered 12 hits, gave up six runs and struck out 10 to propel the Highlanders to an 8-6 Big South Conference baseball victory over Winthrop in Radford.
The Highlanders (14-15, 4-2) have won nine of their past 13 games. The Eagles (21-11-2, 6-3), who lead the Big South, lost two of three to Radford during the weekend.
Air Force outscored the Highlanders 9-1 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 14-7 victory in a men's lacrosse game in Radford.
Chris MacAulay had three goals and two assists to lead the Falcons (6-2). Corey Fenley and B.J. Forte scored two goals each for the Highlanders (2-6).
Keith Wempe had three goals and two assists to lead Roanoke College past Haverford 15-4 in a men's lacrosse game in Haverford, Pa.
The Maroons (8-2), the fifth-ranked team in the latest NCAA Division III coaches' poll, also got two goals and two assists each from William Metz and Jeff Jones. The Red Wave (2-6) was led by Pete Driscoll, who had three goals.
Virginia Tech finished tied for sixth in an 18-team field at the Cleveland Gold/Augusta (Ga.) College Invitational golf tournament. Florida State came from nine shots back to win the title with a three-round total of 863, three strokes better than second-round leader Kent. Tech had an 884 total.
Florida State`s Christian Raynor won the individual title with a 9-under-par 207 total. Curtis Deal led the Hokies with a 215 total, good for fifth place. Other scorers Sunday for Tech were 19th-place finisher Brian Sharp (74), Matt Martin (76) and Sean Farrell (76).
R.J. Weaver shot a second-round 76 to finish with a two-round total of 149, which was good enough to win the individual title at the Virginia State Intercollegiate Division II-III Golf Championship in Wintergreen.
Weaver's performance enabled Ferrum to win the team competition with a score of 626, one stroke ahead of Longwood. Roanoke College finished 10th at 693. The Maroons' top finisher was Al Vizgaitis, with a 169 total.
Miller Baber and partner Mike O'Keefe fired a second-round 3-under par 67 and finished with a two-round total of 138 to win the Roanoke Valley Four-Ball Classic golf tournament at Hunting Hills Country Club.
Baber and O'Keefe finished one stroke ahead of Hunter Morrissette and Dan Foster, who led after Saturday's round. Morrissette and Foster shot a final-round 73 to finish with a 139. Ned Baber and David Partridge finished third with 140 and Dan Hopkins and Jack Tuttle came in fourth with 141.
Three swimmers from the CCA Marlins team competed for the Virginia All-Star Zone team at the Eastern Zones Short Course Championships in Princeton, N.J.
The Virginia all-star team was one of 12 that competed in the Eastern Zones championship, and that team finished second in the standings. Andy Bauman competed in the 10-and-under division and placed fifth in the 50 breast stroke, 100 individual medley and 100 breast stroke. Laura Dichtel competed in the 13-14 girls' division and finished 11th in the 200 breast stroke. Mandy Lippitt was in the 15-18 division and came in first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.42, which was a zone record and qualified her for the junior national championships. Lippitt finished fifth in the 200 butterfly and sixth in the 100 butterfly.
Goalkeeper Stacye Remington recorded three shutouts to lead the Roanoke Stars under-14 girls' soccer team at the Richmond Festival during the weekend.
The Stars defeated Chester 2-0, beat Lafayette 6-0 and blanked Charlottesville 4-0. Lindsey Balmer, Catherine Jordan, Michelle McCoy and Sarah Whitman had two goals each to lead the Stars on offense.
