The program, produced in collaboration with Time magazine, will premiere at 8 p.m.
"Cyberspace" is a term coined by science-fiction writer William Gibson, and being there, according to a news release from the Discovery Channel, means being in a virtual world.
The hourlong program will explain the origins, applications and possible problems of cyberspace.
A Time special issue, entirely dedicated to the topic, appeared on newsstands March 13.
David Suzuki, a science professor, will be the host of the show, guiding viewers through six major segments that provide an in-depth exploration into the Internet and show how the computer revolution has changed people's lives.
The segment entitled "The Cyber Community" will feature the electronic village and Blacksburg.
This is the first time the Discovery Channel and Time have collaborated on such a project.
"Cyberspace is about a new world that is just being born," says producer Christopher Koch. "There's a remarkable spirit of hope and optimism among the people who are leading this technological revolution."
