ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Home sales in the Roanoke Valley continued to lag in March. The Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors on Monday reported that 402 houses were sold last month, down 16.6 percent from March a year ago. In the first quarter, the association reported 969 homes under contract, off 7.4 percent from 1,046 for the first three months of 1994. Properties spent an average of 84 days on the market, and buyers paid an average of 3.9 percent less than the listed price. There are 1,886 homes for sale in the valley.
