Dobro players wanted

Area Dobro players who want to see their names in the record books should mark their calendars now: organizers of a mountain music festival in Caretta, W.Va., will try to set a world record for Dobro players Saturday, July 8.

Musicians will gather at 4 p.m. for the event. The song will be "The Great Speckled Bird," and all performers will get a chance to lead - and get their picture taken.

Also occurring that weekend will be music in a variety of other styles, including blue grass, old time, gospel and country, all during the McDowell County Mountain Music Festival.

Contact Carl Rutherford for more information at P.O. Box 30, Warriormine, W.Va. 24894, or call (304) 875-4483.
