DUBLIN - The New River Community College Center for Training and Development will hold its 12th annual spring banquet on April 18, at the Blacksburg Marriott.
David Austin, director of casual quality resources for Sara Lee Knit Products, will discuss techniques used by his company's Hillsville plant which won the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for private-sector manufacturing in Virginia in 1993.
A social begins at 6 p.m. It is followed by dinner and a program at 7.

Year-end earnings reported
BLACKSBURG - The National Bank of Blacksburg and its holding company, National Bankshares, recently reported $2.9 million in year-end earnings for 1994, a 9 percent increase over 1993 reports.
Stockholder dividends for 1994 increased 16 percent from the previous year.
