HEAD-ON CRASH KILLS BASSETT MAN

A Bassett man died in a North Carolina hospital late Saturday two hours after his car was hit head-on by a pickup on Virginia 698 in Henry County.

James Junior Lewis, 40, was fatally injured around 9:20 p.m. near Virginia 698 and U.S. 57, state police said.

+r Lewis was driving north on 698 when the truck hit his car, police said.

Police did not release any details about the driver of the other vehicle and said it would be today before more information was available.
