Pet owners can bring their animals to be photographed with the Easter Bunny on April 14 from 2-5 p.m., and April 15 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Roanoke Valley Chapter of the Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
A 5''x 7'' color photo will cost $9.95. Proceeds will benefit the SPCA's Injured Animal and Spay and Neuter Fund.
Appointments are not necessary.

Museum open house
The Virginia Museum of Transportation will hold a special volunteer open house Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the museums's volunteer program is encouraged to attend.
With the arrival of the J611 Steam Engine, there is a need to increase the number of volunteers at the museum. They are needed in the admissions office and to work in restoration, as tour guides, costumed interpreters for special events, yard masters and with the director of exhibits.

School auction
North Cross School in Roanoke will hold an auction on the 21st floor of the First Union Building this Saturday. Proceeds will go to the school to help with need-based scholarships, teaching materials and equipment and maintenance for the physical plant. Participants can bid on such items as jewelry and vacations. Bidding begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person. Call 989-6641.
