BLACKSBURG - Ernst Kastning, geology professor at Radford University, will speak on the environmental impact of proposed power lines and highways in the New River Valley, Tuesday, April 18, 7:30 p.m., at the Virginia Tech Museum of Natural History.

Health care forum
BLACKSBURG - The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County will sponsor a public forum on health care options Tuesday, April 18, 7:30 -9:30 p.m., at the Blacksburg Municipal Building.
The guest speakers are Kim Barnes, executive director, Richmond Area Business Group on Health; Richard Roerk, director, Health Systems Agency of Southwest Virginia; Mark Cruise, executive director, Free Clinic of the New River Valley; and Lisa Craff, director, Blue Ridge Regional Health Care Coalition.
A 30-minute question and comment period follows the presentations.
