BLACKSBURG - The first fund-raising banquet for the New River Valley Friends of the National Rifle Association will be held Saturday, April 15, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Custom Catering on North Main Street.
The event will include dinner, speakers, and auctions. Half of the net proceeds will be used to fund local projects such as hunter safety. The dinner costs $25 an individual and $45 a couple. To reserve tickets call 381-0045.
Conservation training
BLACKSBURG - A Project WILD leader training workshop will be held Saturday, April 15, in 315 Cheatham Hall on the Virginia Tech Campus.
Project WILD is a nationally recognized conservation and environmental education program emphasizing wildlife. There is a $10 registration fee. For registration forms call Kathy Sevebeck at 231-7670.

CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program Clothing shop needs donations of clothing, household items, and furniture.
Donations can be brought to the MCEAP shop at 740 Roanoke St. Christiansburg. All donations are tax deductable.
