USAIR CUTS FLIGHTS FROM CHARLESTON

USAir will eliminate its three daily jet flights from Charleston, W.Va., to Charlotte, N.C., but will continue to fly turboprop commuter planes there, said Jeff Bubar, manager of the Charleston airport.

USAir said the number of passengers flying to Charlotte was down, he said. He could not provide specific figures but said the passenger totals dropped 26 percent in December.

Last month, USAir cut all jet service to Tri-State Airport outside Huntington.
