Durkac had a single, two doubles, a home run and two RBI. He also scored five runs. Terhune had two singles, a double, a triple and three RBI and scored three runs.
Tech (21-15) scored five runs in the sixth inning to take a 9-3 lead and added three more in the seventh. Richmond (27-9) got a pinch-hit grand slam from Justin Lamber in the eighth.
Tech reliever Blake Clancy (1-0) picked up the win. Richmond reliever Robbie Preston took the loss (0-2).

Brian Turnage's two-out opposite field double broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning as VMI topped Virginia 6-4 in a baseball game in Lexington.
Chris Cofer and Ryan Glynn added RBI singles off Cavalier reliever Adam Robinson in the eighth for VMI (15-21).
Keydets reliever Merlin Ikenberry escaped a two-out bases-loaded jam in the ninth to earn his first save. W.G. Smith (3-3), who pitched four innings of scoreless relief, was the winner.
Virginia took a 3-1 lead in the third when Justin Counts scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Gilleland, a former Timesland Player of the Year from Jefferson Forest. The Keydets tied the score in the fifth on Glynn's two-run double to center field.
Brett Hartman threw six scoreless innings to lead Washington and Lee past Eastern Mennonite 10-5 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball game in Harrisonburg.
Hartman scattered four hits over the first six innings while striking out five to stake Washington and Lee to a 9-0 lead before the Royals got scored three runs in the seventh. Bates Brown pitched the last two innings for the Generals (6-15, 3-8 ODAC).
Owen Smith hit a run-scoring triple in Washington and Lee's four-run fourth inning that broke open the game. Third baseman Tucker Bixby drove in three runs, including two on a double in the sixth inning.
Eric Diaz led the Royals (12-20, 4-10) with three hits, including a double and a triple.
Radford's Faisal Syed-Haq was named to the men's Big South All-Conference tennis team and Catrin Baecker and Nina Kaiptan were chosen for the women's team. Radford freshman Patti Gryfakis was selected women's rookie of the year.
Syed-Haq, the Highlanders' No.1 player, helped lead Radford to a 10-12 record. Baecker and Kiaptan, who also were selected to the women's doubles all-conference team, helped the Highlanders to a 12-5 mark.
Washington and Lee's Tommy Dudley shot a school-record 68 to earn medalist honors and lead the Generals to the team championship in the Virginia Wesleyan/ODAC Invitational at the par-70 Lake Wright Country Club in Norfolk. Dudley's 2-under-par broke the record of 69 set by All-American Jerry Maatman in 1978.
Washington and Lee finished at 293. Lynchburg was second at 297, followed by Hampden-Sydney (301), Guilford (309), Virginia Wesleyan (312), Bridgewater (325) and Roanoke (329).
Trevor Spencer of Washington and Lee was fourth at 73 and teammates Jay Ingram and Scott Miller each carded 76s. Taylor Schuler was the low-man for Roanoke at 81.
The University of Virginia spring football game is today at 4:30 p.m. at the University of Richmond Stadium. Admission is free.
