IMPALED YOUTH MENDING

A Roanoke County teen-ager was in satisfactory condition Thursday just two days after he was impaled by a splintered fence railing.

The 15-year-old William Byrd High School student was riding in the cargo section of a sport-utility vehicle Tuesday afternoon when it ran off the road, flipped over and crashed into a wooden fence.
