Timothy Peters of Providence, N.C., has won all three races he has entered in this, his rookie season. In his first race on Charlotte Motor Speedway's special one-fifth mile track, he started fifth in his heat and came in third. In the Chargers Division feature event, he started third and won.
Then he moved on to Ace Speedway at Altamahaw, N.C., where he had to compete in the Semi-Pro class because there was not a Chargers division. Again, he started fifth in a heat and placed third. The youngster then started fifth in the feature event and two laps from the finish, he took the lead to record his second victory.
Last Saturday, the freshman at Bartlett Yancey High School scored his third straight decision when he led every lap to win at South Boston Speedway. He will be looking to keep his streak alive tonight when he goes against a strong field of cars on the biggest track he's raced on so far.
