FOR THE RECORD

Because of a reporter's errors, a story about the Tour DuPont was incorrect on two points. Cycle Roanoke Valley, in conjunction with marketing and education classes from Patrick Henry High School, will provide notices close to the time of the race to businesses and homes along the race route in the city of Roanoke about street closures. Also, during the Roanoke time trial of the Tour DuPont, Brambleton Avenue will be closed in the city of Roanoke. Where Brambleton Avenue crosses the Roanoke County line and goes to four lanes, only one lane will be closed.

Barney Snider, an inmate at Bland Correctional Center, attended his brother's funeral under guard. Because of a reporter's error, a story Monday was incorrect on that point.

World War II correspondent Ernie Pyle was killed on Ie Jima in the Ryukyus Islands near Okinawa. Because of a reporter's error, the wrong location was given in the World War II column in Wednesday's Extra section.
