CALLAWAY MAN IS KILLED IN CRASH

A Callaway man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on collision in Franklin County.

David Sparks Lambert, 44, was headed south about 1 p.m. on Virginia 643 just north of Virginia 735 near the Retreat section of the county, according to a report filed by state Trooper Danny Tibbs.

Lambert's pickup truck crossed into the northbound lane and crashed into another pickup truck, the report said. Lambert died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.

No information was available on the driver of the other truck.
