Sunday's 11 a.m. worship service recognizes charter members. Participants include former pastors, the Rev. William B. Young (1949-52), the Rev. Dr. William R. Young Jr. (1966-70) and the Rev. Robert G. Bruce.
The Rev. William H. "Bill" Jackson is the current pastor at Fairlawn Presbyterian, an outgrowth of a Sunday school at the former Fairlawn Elementary School that began in 1942. The church operated as an outpost of Presbyterian Church of Radford, under the Rev. W. L. Newman, until March 1945, when the church formally organized with approximately 90 members. The church completed its first building at its present Pulaski Avenue site in February 1945.

\ GROVE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1020 Tyler Ave., Radford, celebrates 20 years in its present church building Sunday. The Rev. Jack P.
