TRAILER PARK EXPANSION TO BE HEARD

The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing Monday about the proposed expansion of a Peppers Ferry Road trailer park.

The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. Monday on the third floor of the Montgomery County Courthouse in Christiansburg.

Billy D. Massie is seeking to have Massie's Mobile Home Park rezoned from agricultural status to a special category for trailer parks. He also is seeking a special-use permit to expand the park by 16 acres, allowing space for another 40 trailers. The total park size would then be 42 acres.

The existing 61-space park is exempt from the county's planned mobile home residential zoning category because it existed before the zoning.

Massie has applied to have the entire park rezoned into that category. The park is located near Belview Elementary School and Peppers Ferry at Prices Fork Road.
