INDECENT ACT GETS DEPUTY 8 MONTHS

An Essex County deputy found guilty of indecent exposure was sentenced Friday to eight months in jail and fined $200.

General District Judge Ann H. Simpson also sent a felony charge of sexual assault against Capt. Darryl V. Parker to a grand jury that meets Wednesday.

Parker was accused of asking Tina Beckett, 30, to put on her slinkiest dress and then dropping his pants. The incident happened at a job interview in Beckett's home Sept. 8. She was applying to become a dispatcher at the Essex County Sheriff's Office.

Parker did not deny exposing himself to Beckett, but testified Thursday that the incident was consensual.
