FAIR PUTS CHILDREN'S WORKS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

``The Creative Child Fair'' will be held Saturday from noon-2 p.m. at Mill Mountain Zoo in Roanoke. Art work and writing projects from pupils at Roland E. Cook (Roanoke County), West Salem and Westside (Roanoke City) Elementary Schools will be displayed.

A raffle will be held for two etchings by artist P. Buckley Moss, each valued at $1,150. Tickets are $1 or six for $5.

The pupils have been participating in The Creative Child Art Project, sponsored by Blue Ridge Public Television.

In connection with the endeavor, the zoo has made presentations to the classes about the care and preservation of wildlife, sparking related art and writing projects.

Artist-in-residence Mimi Babe Harris visited classrooms, instructing the pupils in various art projects. Mentors from middle schools and adult assistants guided the pupils during the projects.

The art work will be used as station indentifications on WBRA-TV during the summer.
