Lacebark elms and redbud trees will be planted at the municipal building at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. with games, videos, tree walks and refreshments. Children, visitors and town officials will vote on the posters now on display in the building to choose one for next year's Arbor Week celebration.
On Thursday, April 27 and Friday, April 28, the committee will present educational videos at the Tour de Tech in Squires Student Center on the Virginia Tech campus.
The Blacksburg Arbor Day Committee is composed of interested residents and Master Gardener trainees.
