IN SERVICE

Airman David Holt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holt of Christiansburg, recently graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Tex. He is a 1994 graduate of Christiansburg High School and is now undergoing police training. He will report for duty at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Ga., in July.

Richard L. Grubb recently was promoted to Airman First Class and received a certificate for academic excellence at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss. He is the son of Donnie Grubb of Christiansburg.

Electrician's Mate 3rd class David W. Stidham, son of Clarence D. Stidham of Elliston, recently given an honorable discharge after serving six years on the U.S.S. Sacramento, based in Seattle, Wash.

Army Spec. Michael E. Bishop, son of W.S. and Martha B. Bishop of Floyd, has been awarded the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious service, acts of courage or other outstanding accomplishments. He is a military policeman at Fort Michie, Md. He is a 1987 graduate of Floyd High School.

Army Pvt. Shannon N. Emery has completed the flight operations coordinator course at Fort Rucker, Ala. He is the son of Linda and stepson of Kenny Nelson of Christiansburg and is a 1993 graduate of Blacksburg High School.

Marine Sgt. Richard A. Cook, son of Bonnie S. Craig of Pulaski, was recently promoted to his present rank while serving at the Marine Air Corps Station at Cherry Point, N.C. His is a 1990 graduate of Pulaski County High School.

Christy D. Burton, a 1992 graduate of Giles County High School, recently joined the army under the delayed enlistment program. She reported to duty at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. in April.

Deborah E. Camicia, a 1994 graduate of Radford University, recently joined the army under the delayed enlistment program. She will report for duty at Fort McClellan in Anniston, Ala. in May.

Marine Pvt. Michael R. Moser recently completed recruit training. He is the son of George E. and Sarah L. Moser and is a 1993 graduate of Giles County High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Robert E. Hager, son of Charles R. and Judy L. Hager of Dublin, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 1993 graduate of Pulaski County High School.

Marine Pvt. Christopher A. Stanley, son of Kathy Blankenship of Blacksburg, recently completed recruit training. He is a 1994 graduate of Blacksburg High School.

Army Pvt. Freeman K. Lindsey, son of Kathie Lindsey of Pulaski, has entered basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is a 1993 graduate of Pulaski County High School.

Navy Fireman Recruit James L. Zahn, son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Zahn of Radford, has reported for duty aboard the destroyer tender U.S.S. Shenandoah, homeported in Norfolk.

He is a 1994 graduate of Auburn High School in Riner.
