Salim Ibrahim, a Du Pont vice president and general manager, said the company will change the production of Lycra from ``top to bottom,'' including the addition of new systems for preparing polymer and spinning the fiber.
Du Pont expects the expansion to create more than 300 construction jobs. Tom Harris, the Waynesboro plant manager, said additional expansion over the next 10 years could mean as many as 200 more production jobs.
