They were made by Lisa Roop of the Wedding Center, one of the downtown businesses, and placed by her and her husband, Chris.
Roop said she got the idea after her mother-in-law called her and asked for a bow to go on the front of her house in memory of the Oklahoma victims.
"And I thought, 'Gosh, you know, I'd like to do something more,'" Roop said. So she made the more than 20 bows now up downtown.
They are in four colors: white, to remember those killed in the bombing; purple, to remember the children who were in the building's day care center; yellow, for the survivors, and blue, for the state of Oklahoma.
She is selling additional bows to anyone else who would like one at $5 each, and plans to donate the proceeds to a relief fund for the victims or families in Oklahoma. To buy them, call the Wedding Center at (703) 980-4222.
